About The Position

The Beach Attendant provides beach equipment, including chairs and umbrellas, for hotel guests and ensures the beach is prepared before guests arrive. The role includes setting up and storing equipment, escorting guests to their preferred beach area, responding to guest requests and questions, and maintaining the appearance and organization of the beach. The attendant may assist with minor emergencies and first aid and must appropriately respond to major emergencies by contacting a lifeguard or calling 911.

Requirements

Sufficient education and literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English is preferred.
Some customer service experience is strongly preferred.
CPR certification; certification may be obtained after employment.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Ability to perform consistent work to high standards.
Ability to remain discreet and respect guests' privacy.
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly manner.
Ability to assist guests courteously and efficiently.
Ability to retain and enforce safety procedures.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in sun and heat for long periods.
Must be able to navigate sand while carrying heavy objects.
Ability to bend, stoop, and stretch throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
Load and transport beach equipment and towels before each shift.
Assist with setting up tables, chairs, tents, and umbrellas.
Store equipment properly when it is not in use.
Lead guests to their beach setup and assist with requests.
Assist guests with related questions and concerns.
Assist guests with minor emergencies and first aid.
Respond appropriately to major emergencies that require a lifeguard or a call to 911 emergency services.
Monitor and maintain the appearance of the beach.
Keep the work area tidy and organized.
Collect all beach equipment and soiled towels at the end of the shift.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
