About The Position

BHIW is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Health Services Policy Analyst to support the Breast & Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP) and WISEWOMAN programs. This role is integral in ensuring high-quality program performance, data accuracy, and compliance with state and federal requirements. Develop and implement evaluation and performance measurement plans for BCCP and WISEWOMAN programs. Extract, clean, and analyze program data using MySQL and statistical methods. Maintain data dictionaries and ensure accuracy of clinical coding and program data. Build and update Power BI dashboards to support program monitoring and reporting. Conduct data audits, ensure data privacy compliance, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare analytical reports, projections, and input for federal grant applications. Provide technical assistance and training to users of the client management system (Med‑IT). Support strategic planning and continuous quality improvement with analytical insights. Oversee testing and deployment of information system modifications and manage system access. Coordinate data submissions (MDE) to CDC and participate in national performance measure calls. Requirements

  • Option 1\: Completion of undergraduate core coursework 12 mos. exp. in one of following\: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & word processing 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.
  • OR Option 2: Completion of graduate core coursework in health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics or comparable field 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & word processing 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience evaluating public health programs and performance measures
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries and analyzing relational data
  • Experience preparing and submitting federal or grant-required reports
  • Experience developing &/or maintaining data dashboards or visualizations (e.g., Power BI)
  • Experience ensuring data quality, audits, and maintaining data documentation
  • Experience developing program goals, evaluation plans, and performance

  • Experience using data to inform public health policy and program decisions
  • Experience supporting health information systems (e.g., testing, access, or security)
  • Experience developing technical reports, presentations, or documentation
  • Experience with medical terminology or CPT coding
