About The Position

The Battery Cup Technician tends one or more machines or processes as directed by the area supervisor, checks that machines are operating properly, and contacts a technician or supervisor when needed. The role performs basic quality assurance checks, moves raw materials and semi-finished and finished goods to support efficient process flow, and follows work instructions and plant safety rules. The technician supports the facility’s mission, safety, and ISO goals and participates as a member of the Remington Team. The position requires safe and orderly work, use of required protective equipment, attendance at meetings as directed, inspection of products for defects, and accurate process documentation. Duties may also include handling hazardous waste. Hazardous Waste Management training must be completed within six months of starting the job and annually thereafter; until trained, employees handling hazardous waste must work under the direct supervision of a trained employee. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs. Good attendance is an essential function, and overtime—including extended shifts or scheduled days off—may be required. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The starting hourly rate is $24.35; the actual annual salary offered is based on factors including experience, geographic location, education, and skills or achievements, and is agreed upon at offer. The work environment includes frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, explosives, and vibration, and occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. The work area is usually loud. Approved safety glasses with side shields or goggles, steel-toe safety shoes, and hearing protection are required. Assignments may involve potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives; safety training is provided. The role requires corrected vision of 20/20 with normal depth perception and peripheral vision; repeatedly lifting and moving up to 25 pounds without assistance; pushing a loaded production buggy weighing up to 1,500 pounds; standing or sitting for up to three hours at a time; occasionally kneeling, crouching, bending, or reaching; ascending and descending stairs; and grasping and feeling small parts. Reasonable accommodations may be considered where they do not adversely affect other employees.
