1st Shift Batching Operator-1
About The Position
The Batching Operator operates assigned machines to mix products and ensures products meet recipe requirements and quality and safety standards. The position is based in Production in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The schedule is Monday through Friday, beginning at 5:30 a.m. year-round, with a varying end time. The work schedule may occasionally change due to production or training needs. The operator learns and follows the company’s HACCP and SQF programs and food safety procedures, wears required personal protective equipment, prepares and sanitizes equipment, measures ingredients, follows recipes and standard procedures, and operates assigned machines safely and accurately. The role reports to the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; these qualifications are preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English-language documentation, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to obtain a forklift and/or pallet jack license.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Learn and follow MGK HACCP and SQF programs.
- Learn and follow all food safety procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Set up, assemble, disassemble, and sanitize specified equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Measure and weigh required ingredients according to specified recipes.
- Follow recipe instructions and standard procedures to ensure recipe accuracy and quality.
- Safely and accurately operate assigned machines according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
