About The Position

Operate one mixer to maximize production to BDS, ensuring concrete is batched promptly with minimal downtime. The role involves coordinating with bed foremen and quality control personnel, entering and monitoring batch formulas using a computer, adjusting moisture content, and ensuring concrete meets requested temperature and quantity requirements. The operator also directs equipment operators, discharges concrete into delivery equipment, performs manual mixing when needed, and cleans and maintains the mixer and work area.

All employees are required to follow safety and quality rules and processes to support a safe working environment and the production of high-quality products. The operator may substitute for Equipment Operators to deliver concrete and perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and quality rules and processes.
• Communicate with bed foremen and QC personnel to determine the desired concrete formula and required cubic yards.
• Call up the formula on the computer, enter the required cubic yards, and adjust moisture content as necessary.
• Monitor the computer screen to ensure components are weighed and mixed according to the formula.
• Inject steam into the mixture as required to batch concrete at the requested temperature.
• Direct Equipment Operators to the appropriate mixer.
• Discharge concrete into delivery equipment.
• Mix concrete manually when small amounts are needed.
• Clean the mixer and work area daily, including chipping and greasing as necessary.
• Substitute for Equipment Operators to deliver concrete as necessary.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Supervisor.
