Batch Maker I
About The Position
Batch Maker I mixes raw chemical materials to create Meridian Adhesives Group products. The role stages and manually charges raw materials into mixing containers, follows batch work instructions, and monitors mixing equipment and instruments to ensure batches meet the specified instructions. Under Quality Control guidance, the batch maker adjusts batches until they are approved. The position follows the manufacturing schedule, communicates potential improvements or concerns to the Supervisor, and maintains a safe, clean work area in compliance with company standards and PPE requirements. The schedule is first shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The starting hourly rate is $22.27–$24.75; the actual rate may vary based on relevant skills and experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
Requirements
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to operate high-speed dispersers and other handling equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend English.
- Ability to lift 50–60 pounds.
- Ability to read digital scales.
Nice To Haves
- Chemical manufacturing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Stage and manually charge necessary raw materials into mixing containers.
- Follow batch work instructions to manufacture quality products.
- Monitor and control mixing equipment and other instruments to ensure batches are produced according to work instructions.
- Adjust batches under Quality Control guidance until approved.
- Follow the manufacturing schedule and work with the Supervisor regarding potential improvements or concerns.
- Clean the work area to company standards.
- Ensure the work area is safe, clean, and free of recognizable hazards, and immediately communicate spills or other hazards to the floor Supervisor or Safety.
- Comply with all personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
