Batch Maker I
About The Position
Batch Maker I mixes raw chemical materials to manufacture adhesive products. The role involves staging and manually charging raw materials into mixing containers, following batch work instructions, monitoring mixing equipment and instruments, and adjusting batches under quality control guidance until approved. The position follows the manufacturing schedule and works with the Supervisor on potential improvements or concerns. The batch maker is also responsible for cleaning the work area to company standards and maintaining a safe, clean work area free of recognizable hazards. Spills and other hazards must be communicated promptly to a floor supervisor or safety, and all personal protective equipment (PPE) standards must be followed. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The starting hourly rate is $24.75. The stated hourly range may vary based on relevant skills and experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
Requirements
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to operate high-speed dispersers and other handling equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend English.
- Ability to lift 50–60 pounds.
- Ability to read digital scales.
Nice To Haves
- Chemical manufacturing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Stage and manually charge necessary raw materials into mixing containers.
- Follow batch work instructions to manufacture quality products.
- Monitor and control mixing equipment and other instruments to ensure batches are produced according to work instructions.
- Adjust batches under quality control guidance until they are approved.
- Follow the manufacturing schedule and work with the Supervisor regarding potential improvements or concerns.
- Clean the work area to company standards.
- Ensure the work area is safe, clean, and free of recognizable hazards.
- Immediately communicate spills and other hazards to a floor supervisor or safety.
- Comply with all PPE standards.
