About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Temporary Basic Needs Coordinator to support the Care and Resource Support office on the Pittsburgh campus. The Care and Resource Support (CRS) office is part of the Wellness Team within the Division of Student Affairs. The Wellness Team is led by the Executive Associate Dean and Chief Wellness Officer and consists of Campus Recreation, Student Health Services (SHS), University Counseling Center (UCC), and Financial Wellness departments in addition to CRS. CRS office exists to ensure healthy and thriving lives for Pitt’s diverse student population of over 30,0000+ undergraduate, graduate and professional students by providing care management and basic needs services to support students with navigating challenging or unexpected issues that impact their wellbeing and academic success. The Basic Needs Coordinator will provide leadership and management of the Pitt Pantry and Thriftsburgh. This includes but is not limited to student staff supervision, program development and implementation, and campus and community partner relationship building. The Basic Needs Coordinator will also provide case management to students experiencing basic needs insecurities related to food, housing, SNAP, Medicaid, and general financial insecurities, and potentially others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to motivate and support a team of student workers within a wellbeing- and sustainability-focused framework.
  • Capacity to work closely with campus and community partners.
  • Competence to have strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
