About The Position

The Special Needs Coordinator champions Chapel Pointe’s vision and values within Special Needs Ministry at all locations, maintaining consistency across programming and initiatives. This role involves creating inclusive environments, developing special needs leaders, and ensuring that individuals with special needs can participate in NextGen programming at age-specific services and events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in special education or relevant experience
• Relevant ministry/work experience
• Ministry or volunteer experience required
• An authentic and passionate Christian walk
• Experienced servant-leader, exemplifying the humility and attitude of Christ
• Consistent personal habits of prayer, Bible study, and generosity
• Demonstrates a personal lifestyle that is consistent in word and practice with the teachings of the Bible
• Understands and embraces the Chapel Pointe Statement of Faith, Constitution, Vision Statement and Core Values
• The ability to multi-task and stay focused is extremely important.

Nice To Haves

• experience within special needs ministry or related fields preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of the special needs ministry at Chapel Pointe sites.
• Develop, maintain, and staff environments that support the unique needs of children, teens, and vulnerable adults with special needs.
• Manage a growth-oriented ministry with goals that align with the mission and vision of the church.
• Educate volunteer leaders in NextGen Ministries and church-wide teams on the importance of individuals with special needs and how to effectively include them in our ministries.
• Work with NextGen volunteers and ministry leaders to identify and serve individuals with special needs.
• Present on Sunday mornings to support the special needs volunteer team, connect with families, and help new families assimilate.
• Recruit, process, and train volunteer teams to support our special needs families' unique needs.
• Build a team that enables all individuals with special needs to participate in NextGen programming at age-specific services and events.
