About The Position

Qualcomm's central baseband hardware design organization designs baseband and high-speed embedded system development platforms utilizing Qualcomm applications processors, modems, power management/charging ICs, and RF modules for in-house design verification, software/firmware development, and SOC product test. These highly integrated, multi-card platforms incorporate Qualcomm's high-performance SOCs, high speed memories (DRAM), high resolution displays, RF transceivers/modules, and a host of digital & analog peripherals (Audio, USB, Bluetooth, GPS, MIPI, PCIe, WLAN, and LAN/Ethernet).

Requirements

  • BSEE or MSEE in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • High-speed digital/baseband, power management, & analog circuit experience
  • Strong lab skills (strong debugging skills, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with 1GHz+ ARM or x86 hardware platforms that include DDRx memory interfaces.
  • Experience working on signal and power integrity issues.
  • Familiarity with high-speed serial interfaces (PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, etc.)
  • Experience with industry standard schematic capture tools
  • Familiarity with power supply design / topologies and low-power design techniques

Responsibilities

  • Working across disciplines to define the platform's requirements
  • Working with the hardware team to define the architecture of the platform
  • Designing and documenting the hardware platform
  • Schematic and BOM capture
  • Working with the CAD team on the PWB layout
  • Lab-based design verification and integration
  • Transition of the design to small volume production
  • Technical support of in-house customers
