About The Position
The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner with them in moving the district toward its goals. Nottingham High School is hiring Baseball Coaches (Modified - Head /Assistant). The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12. The coaching staff consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. In grades 7-8, the modified program focuses on skill development and participation, emphasizing discipline, enjoyment, competition, and hard work over winning. The high school teams (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity) focus on a higher refinement of skill, competition, academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check ($102.50 cost to candidate).

- Previous Coaching Experience
Responsibilities
- Coach student athletes in baseball.
- Develop skills and participation in modified program (grades 7-8).
- Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
- Stress academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.

- Salary per Unit 1 contract, prorated per length of season.
