About The Position

The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals. Henninger High School is looking for Baseball Coaches (Varsity/JV/Modified - Head/Assistant) to join their coaching staff. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12. The coaching staff consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. In grades 7-8, a comprehensive modified program serves as a 'training ground' for skill development and participation, emphasizing discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and dedication. Winning is not emphasized, and large team numbers are encouraged for maximum participation. The modified program prepares student athletes for higher-level high school competition. At the high school level, a higher refinement of skill is necessary, and competition is viewed at a higher level of comprehension. High school freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams strive for success, practicing to produce efficient team and individual efforts. At the high school level, the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship are stressed.

Responsibilities

Coach student athletes in baseball at the Varsity/JV/Modified levels.
Develop student athletes' skills, discipline, and understanding of competition.
Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
Stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
Encourage maximum participation and enjoyment of play in the modified program.
Work with student athletes to produce efficient team and individual efforts.
