About The Position

The Base Security Officer provides supplementary security support to enhance the overall security program. The role assists the primary security team in maintaining a safe and secure environment through vigilant observation, a professional presence, and adherence to established security protocols. The officer performs essential security functions during peak periods and special events, or provides coverage during staff shortages. The position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt to different security assignments while maintaining consistent service standards and professional conduct. The officer supports security operations, observes and reports potential concerns, responds to emergencies as directed, and contributes to a positive security presence that balances safety with customer service. The position is based in Culver City, California, and pays $24.50 per hour.

Requirements

Active BSIS Guard Card.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Basic computer skills for report writing and communications.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform security duties in various weather conditions.
Physical capability to respond to security situations.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding security matters.

Nice To Haves

Previous security experience.
Military, law enforcement, or public safety background.
Experience in customer service or public-facing roles.
Understanding of basic security principles and practices.
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Conduct security patrols of assigned areas to maintain visibility and deter unauthorized activities.
Monitor access points and enforce visitor management protocols as directed.
Respond to security incidents according to established procedures and escalation protocols.
Assist with crowd management and traffic control during special events or emergency situations.
Observe for suspicious activities, safety hazards, and security concerns.
Document security activities, incidents, and observations in daily logs and reports.
Communicate security information clearly to supervisors and team members, and provide detailed shift handover information.
Respond to emergencies and assist with evacuations, shelter-in-place, or other emergency response activities as directed.
Provide basic first aid or CPR if properly trained and authorized.
Support coordination with external emergency responders when required.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and interact courteously and respectfully with employees, visitors, and the public.
Follow company policies, security procedures, post orders, and emergency response procedures.
Participate in required security training and professional development activities.
Develop and maintain knowledge of site-specific security requirements and protocols.
