About The Position

McMenamins Edgefield is hiring a Bartender for the Bars Department. McMenamins is a family-owned company in Oregon and Washington that serves handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee, along with pub fare. Their locations range from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels, emphasizing community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun. Bartenders are responsible for all tasks from opening to closing the bar, including serving food and beverages, operating a cash register/POS system, waiting on and bussing tables, doing dishes, restocking supplies, general cleaning, completing shift reports, and maintaining customer relations. Bartending is described as physically demanding work requiring mental agility and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, potentially in smoking and non-smoking areas. Bartenders must work well independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card and OLCC card.
  • 21+ years of age.
  • Enjoy working in a busy customer service-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous related experience is preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle every task from opening to closing of the bar.
  • Serve food.
  • Pour and serve beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Operate a cash register and/or a POS system.
  • Wait on and bus tables.
  • Do dishes.
  • Restock supplies.
  • General cleaning.
  • Complete the books after shifts.
  • Maintain customer relations.
  • Perform all cashiering duties.
