About The Position

The Between the Trees Bartender is responsible for setting up the bar and mixing drinks for guests and servers. The role maintains service and cleanliness in the bar area while supporting quality service, guest satisfaction, and liquor inventory control. Candidates must have open availability and be able to work weekends and holidays, with no exceptions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Open availability, including the ability to work weekends and holidays; no exceptions.
• Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests at all levels in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Ability to understand and apply complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a warm, attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor with guests, managers, and fellow employees.
• Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently.
• Prepare beverages and cocktails according to hotel mixing and presentation standards.
• Serve guests' beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Break down the bar after functions and store liquor, supplies, and equipment according to hotel standards.
• Follow state liquor laws and prescribed procedures for serving liquor responsibly, including avoiding problems with intoxicated guests.
• Know hotel services and facilities.
• Follow hotel policies and safety rules.
• Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents.
• Know the locations of fire exits and fire extinguishers and how to operate them.
• Keep the bar and service areas clean and tidy during service.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Attend required hotel meetings and trainings.
• Maintain regular attendance, proper uniform and nametag, and personal appearance in accordance with hotel standards.
• Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
• Handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them as needed.
• Cross-train in other hotel-related areas and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
