About The Position

The Bartender at Asbury Ocean Club Hotel prepares and serves cocktails, wines, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. The role creates beverage experiences that reflect the property’s coastal character and Asbury Park’s culture, while engaging guests with a warm welcome, personality, and beverage knowledge. The Bartender serves as an ambassador of hospitality and supports a memorable guest experience. The position has no supervisory duties.

Requirements

• Bartending training and certification.
• TIPS certification.
• Six months of bartending experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks at once and stay organized and attentive to details in crowded, noisy situations.
• Ability to use tact and understanding when handling customer service problems, including stressful and emotional situations.
• Ability to accurately count cash and operate a cash register.
• Must be able to use records and handle special requests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers in accordance with established guidelines, procedures, policies, beverage controls, safety controls, and company standards.
• Interact with guests cordially, efficiently, and professionally while maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Ring guest checks, collect cash, and process credit payments and room charges according to company procedures.
• Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists.
• Know and comply with state liquor laws.
• Maintain established inventory pars.
• Perform sidework duties according to assigned schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
