About The Position

The Bartender serves drinks and food at the bar and supports restaurant service at The Essex Resort & Spa. The role includes preparing and maintaining knowledge of standard drinks, liquors, and wines; managing bar inventory and orders; handling cash; maintaining cleanliness and uniform standards; and providing attentive service to guests. The position is part-time, scheduled Sunday through Wednesday during the PM shift, and pays $8.40 plus tips. The bartender may also greet guests, handle coats, deliver cocktails to tables, and assist other Food and Beverage departments as needed. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of bartending experience.
One year of fine dining or high-end resort experience.
Extensive knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and mixology.
Excellent customer service skills.
Pleasant and helpful personality.

Responsibilities

Compose standard drinks and be knowledgeable about liquors and wines specific to the restaurant bar.
Plan and maintain par levels for bar inventory.
Prepare daily orders for bar items to maintain par levels.
Handle cash and follow bank procedures established by the Accounting Department.
Perform accurate bar inventory on the 10th, 20th, and last day of each month, or as otherwise required by the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.
Learn and use suggestive-selling techniques during service.
Maintain cleanliness in all applicable workplace areas.
Maintain a perfectly crisp uniform.
Respond to reasonable tasks assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Greet guests as they enter the restaurant.
Take and return guests’ coats as needed.
Deliver cocktails to tables as needed.
Assist other Food and Beverage departments as needed.
Serve drinks and food at the bar.
