Bartender - Island Oaks RV Resort
About The Position
The Bartender prepares and serves high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with resort standards while providing exceptional guest service. The role helps create a welcoming, fun, and engaging atmosphere for guests at a Tiny Homes and RV Camping Resort, while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. The Bartender prepares beverages to standard recipes and presentation guidelines; serves and engages guests; maintains and stocks the bar; monitors beverage inventory; operates the point-of-sale system and handles transactions; and supports daily service and special events. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying items weighing 20 or more pounds, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old, or meet the age required by state law.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 or more pounds.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, or cooler temperatures.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 1 year of bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, hotel, or resort environment preferred.
- Knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Knowledge of mixology techniques, recipes, and garnishes.
- Knowledge of proper glassware and presentation standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Provide friendly, attentive, personalized service, anticipate guest needs, and enhance the guest experience.
- Engage guests in a warm, approachable manner suited to a relaxed outdoor resort environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
- Monitor and control inventory, including proper storage, handling, and security of beverage products.
- Operate the POS system and accurately handle cash and credit transactions and closing procedures.
- Comply with responsible alcohol service laws and company policies.
- Upsell menu items and promote featured beverages, specials, and events.
- Assist with bar setup, breakdown, and restocking for daily service and special events.
- Maintain high sanitation, safety, and personal hygiene standards.
- Support team members and perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
