About The Position

Prepare drinks and welcome guests at TACO NACO KC’s Westport Taquería & Cantina in Kansas City, Missouri. The bartender makes margaritas, cocktails, and alcohol-free drinks, takes orders, handles payments, and works with the kitchen and guest service team to provide friendly, accurate service. TACO NACO KC is a Mexican-owned, women-led, chef-driven taquería with locations in Overland Park, Westport, and State Line. The company began with catering and farmers’ markets and takes pride in good Mexican food and genuine hospitality. It seeks people who support teammates, take initiative, and make every guest feel welcome and cared for. This role has full-time and part-time opportunities. Evening and weekend availability is required, and closing duties continue after guest service ends. Work includes standing, walking, cleaning, and moving supplies during service, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

One year of bartending or similar restaurant service experience.
Ability to prepare drinks, handle payments, and enter orders accurately during busy service.
Friendly communication and good judgment when serving alcohol and helping guests with concerns.
Evening and weekend availability is required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of tequila, mezcal, Mexican beer, and classic cocktails.

Responsibilities

Welcome bar guests, explain the food and drink menus, and offer helpful recommendations.
Prepare margaritas, classic cocktails, and alcohol-free drinks using the company’s recipes.
Serve beer and other beverages.
Check guest identification and follow rules for serving alcohol safely and responsibly.
Enter food and drink orders correctly in the register system.
Work with the kitchen to serve orders on time.
Prepare drink ingredients and stock glasses and supplies.
Report items running low and avoid waste.
Keep the bar, tools, and guest areas clean and follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
Handle payments, resolve guest concerns, and complete opening and closing duties with the service team.
