About The Position

As a Bartender at ‘ULU Ocean Grill, you play an essential role in the guest dining experience, creating moments of connection and enjoyment through expertly crafted beverages and thoughtful service. Set along the Kona-Kohala coast, ‘ULU offers a refined yet relaxed oceanfront dining experience, where fresh, locally sourced ingredients and artistry come together. In this morning-focused role, you bring energy, precision, and genuine hospitality to every interaction—whether preparing a signature cocktail, pouring a glass of wine, or engaging guests as they begin their day.

Requirements

  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card when working in food and beverage.
  • Required to obtain Hawaii State Blue card, rules and regulations of the Liquor Commission.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
  • A warm, engaging presence with the ability to connect naturally and authentically with guests
  • Pride in your craft and a strong attention to detail in beverage preparation and presentation
  • Knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixology, with a desire to continue learning and refining your skills
  • The ability to remain calm, organized, and attentive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to supporting the team
  • Previous bartending experience required (minimum two years)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a selection of wines, spirits, and specialty beverages with precision, consistency, and a strong sense of craftsmanship
  • Engage with guests in a warm and natural manner, offering thoughtful recommendations and sharing knowledge of ingredients, flavors, and preparation
  • Create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere where guests feel recognized, cared for, and at ease
  • Ensure each beverage is prepared and presented with care, delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience from order through service
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond with professionalism, urgency, and genuine attention to detail
  • Complete transactions smoothly and accurately while maintaining a continuous focus on the guest experience
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the bar, supporting daily preparation including garnishes and service elements
  • Work collaboratively with service and culinary teams to deliver a cohesive and elevated dining experience
