About The Position

The Bar Apprentice provides excellent service to guests at the bar, keeps the bar area clean and stocked, and assists the Bartender with various duties. The position involves serving and preparing drinks, interacting with customers, and handling cash transactions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with constant public contact. Shifts may vary based on business needs.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of prior Bartender or Bar Apprentice experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a money-handling position.
• Knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes.
• Effective professional communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Ability to interact with customers, the public, and co-workers.
• Ability to work as part of a team with other staff members.
• Ability to count money accurately and provide change.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
• Ability to stand and walk, and repeatedly lift at least 15–20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean the bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, refrigerators, and other bar appliances.
• Acknowledge, greet, and converse with customers who approach the bar.
• Prepare and pour drinks for customers and cocktail servers upon request.
• Process cash transactions accurately, make necessary change, and provide customers with bar receipts.
• Convert cash to coin for customers playing slot machines in the bar area.
• Call a designated slot employee when needed by a guest or bartender.
• Assist the Bartender with various duties.
• Keep the bar area clean and stocked.
