About The Position

Blue Bottle Coffee is hiring a part-time Barista to create exceptional guest experiences grounded in care and respect. The role focuses on preparing and serving beverages and food, sharing coffee knowledge, maintaining product quality, supporting cafe operations, and helping foster an inclusive community. Baristas complete Blue Bottle Academy training and a 90-day post-hire validation. The position involves being on your feet for most of the day and working with coffee and food preparation equipment. The environment may include elevated temperatures near preparation equipment and cooler temperatures in refrigerated spaces.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
Have basic math and computer skills.
Have a flexible schedule and be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be reliable and punctual.
Be passionate about coffee, food, and inclusive hospitality experiences.
Be thoughtful, attentive to guest needs, detail-oriented, and willing to take on new experiences with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional hospitality to guests, teammates, vendors, and suppliers.
Prepare and serve beverages using different brewing and preparation methods, and prepare and serve food.
Stay informed about current beverage and food offerings and preparation techniques; build knowledge through tastings, cuppings, and trainings.
Taste beverages regularly to ensure quality, uphold standards, and develop a palate.
Create community by sharing coffee knowledge with guests and encouraging teammates to do the same.
Support cafe operations through tasks such as cleaning, clearing and washing dishes, sweeping, dusting, mopping, organizing condiment stations, and taking out trash.
Support company-wide sustainability goals.
Follow health, food safety, and safety guidelines, and promote a safe and respectful workplace.
Complete Blue Bottle Academy training and 90-day validation after hire.
