About The Position

The Barista creates a positive guest experience by interacting with guests and preparing and serving tea, coffee, and espresso drinks for the Bongo Java brand. The role requires courteous, friendly, efficient service and adherence to company image, grooming, uniform, food safety, cash-handling, and loss-prevention standards. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Customer-service focus and a solution-oriented approach.

Math knowledge sufficient to calculate costs, make change, and follow cash-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide courteous, friendly, efficient service to customers and team members, exceeding First Class Service standards.
Maintain a professional company image and comply with grooming and uniform guidelines, including wearing slip-resistant shoes.
Greet guests warmly and take their drink and food orders.
Operate coffee-making equipment and dismantle and clean machinery as needed.
Prepare and present beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Accurately total orders, process and collect payments, and use the point-of-sale system.
Handle cash and process credit and debit card payments, make change, and follow cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures.
Ensure guest satisfaction, respond promptly and efficiently to guest inquiries and requests, and resolve concerns with a manager's assistance when necessary.
Assist with training new team members by reinforcing successful performance and helping as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes.
Receive positive Secret Shopper scores and ask the correct SMG-related questions to encourage positive comments.
Comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including food safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
