About The Position

Baristas at Blank Street provide hospitality-driven customer service while preparing coffee, matcha, and other café beverages with passion and precision. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with teammates, and creating a welcoming experience that helps build community among customers and staff. Baristas use the company’s coffee program and equipment, follow food and beverage handling standards, and help maintain product quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a customer service position, preferably in hospitality or coffee.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to lift 25+ pounds and stand for long periods.
Availability that meets the needs of the cafes.
For part-time work: 15–25 hours per week across 3 days, including 2 peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).
For full-time work: 30–40 hours per week across 4–5 days, including 2 peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent, welcoming, and engaging customer service, with the goal of turning customers into regulars.
Prepare drinks using Blank Street’s coffee program, equipment, and products.
Complete training and follow proper food and beverage handling procedures to maintain freshness and quality.
Reduce food and beverage waste and follow or adjust par levels in response to business peaks and lows.
Maintain Local Department of Health standards.
Know and follow product, service, and brand training playbooks.
Participate in Operations and Marketing initiatives to increase foot traffic, attract new customers, grow daily sales, improve operational profitability, and develop a loyal neighborhood customer base.
