About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items to customers. The Barista will welcome customers, understand their needs, educate them on the menu, and prepare drinks according to recipes. They will also sell coffee and equipment, manage inventory, maintain equipment, ensure a safe and healthy work environment, and contribute to improving store appearance and processes.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Previous work experience as a Barista is an asset

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items.
Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
Prepare coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
Sell coffee and coffee grinding/brewing equipment.
Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply and stocking equipment.
Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and implementing changes.
Maintain and improve the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
