About The Position

Opal Grand Resort is hiring a Barista for its Beach Market team. The Barista greets customers, takes and processes food and beverage orders, prepares coffee drinks according to prescribed recipes and techniques, and prepares and serves other beverages and food items. The role also handles payments, maintains inventory and supplies, answers customer questions, and provides quick, polite, and efficient service. The Barista is expected to maintain a sanitary, organized work environment, follow health and safety and sanitation practices, adhere to company policies, and report accidents to management. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity paying $15.00 per hour plus gratuities. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. The company conducts post-offer employment verifications and motor vehicle and criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a friendly manner and take food and drink orders.
Prepare and sell coffee drinks according to prescribed recipes and preparation techniques, including espresso, café latte, and cappuccino.
Receive and process payments and enter customer food and beverage orders through the POS system.
Order, receive, and stock supplies and retail products, and maintain necessary inventory.
Prepare and serve beverages and food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries.
Answer customers’ questions about menu choices and options, and promote and recommend menu items.
Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner.
Handle cash and credit card payments accurately and follow appropriate cash-handling procedures.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently and demonstrate a thorough understanding of menu offerings.
Observe applicable health and safety standards and follow safety and sanitation practices.
Keep the work environment sanitary and organized.
Evaluate and modify processes to improve efficiency and quality of service.
Perform other duties as assigned or determined by management or supervisors, working with a sense of urgency.
Report accidents to management and adhere to company policies and procedures in the Staff Member Handbook.
