BARISTA (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
About The Position
The Barista prepares and serves coffee and espresso drinks, along with related food and beverage items, while following HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards. The role includes courteous customer service, accurate order entry and payment handling, maintaining clean and orderly work areas and equipment, and presenting food attractively and at proper temperatures. The position is located at Butler Brew at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, Monday through Friday on the morning shift; additional schedule details are provided during the interview. Previous barista experience is preferred. The fixed pay rate is $16.10 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering according to standard measures and recipes.
- Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies, and maintain a clean service area.
- Maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures while following HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Greet customers courteously, interact to ensure customer satisfaction, and relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
