About The Position
The Barista prepares and serves a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, and provides friendly, efficient service to resort guests. The role involves taking orders, recommending products, creating latte art, maintaining a clean and organized work area, following health and safety guidelines, upselling additional items, and handling cash transactions. The position is at Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort, a beachfront resort in Kauai, Hawaii. The role is full-time and pays $18.28 per hour. A sign-on bonus incentive plan offers $150 at hire, $300 after 90 days, and $500 after six months. The employer requires a pre-employment drug test and background check and participates in E-Verify.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and techniques.
- Prior cash-handling experience.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with various coffee beans and blends is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages, including espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos.

- Create latte art and present drinks attractively.

- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain the quality and freshness of coffee products.
- Upsell pastries, snacks, merchandise, and other items.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register accurately.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service so guests feel welcomed and valued.
