About The Position

UPMC is hiring a Barista for Riverbrew Cafe at UPMC Harrisburg. The position prepares espresso drinks, smoothies, and coolers to customer requests and applicable standards, performs cashiering duties, maintains the workstation, and stocks supplies. The Barista provides fast, friendly, courteous service and uses product knowledge to deliver outstanding customer service according to Starbucks standards. The role operates during hours between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. on an 8-hour shift, including rotating weekends and holidays. The Barista is expected to prepare and deliver drinks promptly, support store sales and profitability goals, and follow store policies and procedures. Act 34 with renewal is required.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests, answer questions, and educate them about products.
Prepare espresso drinks, smoothies, and coolers according to Starbucks standards and deliver them to guests in less than three minutes.
Operate the espresso machine and video screen, identify drinks, and ensure correct delivery.
Perform cashiering duties and follow cash-handling procedures and policies.
Clean the workstation and guest areas according to store standards and stock supplies as needed.
Contribute to store profitability, sales goals, and efforts to improve profits.
Demonstrate the Starbucks experience and offer customer demonstrations and samples using brewing equipment.
Discover customer needs and suggest products appropriately to enhance service and meet sales goals.
Batch similar drinks together.
Respond to customer needs, thank customers, and demonstrate the Just Say Yes behavior.
Follow store policies and procedures.
