About The Position

Harborview Nutrition Services is hiring a part-time Barista at 60% FTE. The role independently operates a remote food service area or espresso bar and performs routine food and beverage preparation, service, cleaning, and stocking. The Barista provides customer service to a diverse customer base in a medical setting, trains new or unskilled employees on beverage and food service tasks and departmental procedures, operates food service equipment and machinery, and handles customer payments according to department policies.

The scheduled shifts are Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., and Tuesday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. This is a regular, part-time position in Harborview Nutrition and Food Services.

Requirements

• Possess a Washington State Food Worker Card, or be eligible to obtain one within two weeks of employment.
• Have one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverages.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration, apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, respectful customer service to a diverse customer base in a medical setting.
• Train new or unskilled employees in preparing and serving espresso beverages and food items, cleaning and stocking duties, and departmental procedures.
• Operate espresso and food service equipment and machinery.
• Prepare and serve food items and espresso beverages.
• Stock supplies needed to prepare and serve beverages and food items.
• Display food and espresso items attractively.
• Operate a cash register and handle cash, check, and charge payments in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Perform cleaning activities.
