About The Position

The Barista is responsible for the day-to-day coffee and bar operations at Birdies Cafe & Bar and for providing extraordinary customer service to guests, members, and associates. The role includes preparing coffee and other beverages, supporting outlet opening or closing, maintaining a clean work area and assigned cash bank, and assisting with inventory and other projects as needed. Scheduling varies according to the resort’s needs.

Requirements

Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in spoken and written English with guests, members, management, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
Must have and maintain current Texas Food Handlers certification.
Must be able to lift and move moderate weights.
Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
General knowledge of cash handling and Point of Sale systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni standards and the work schedule.
Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the required attire or uniform and name tag.
Open or close the outlet as assigned by the Outlet Manager or Outlet Supervisor and ensure the outlet opens on time.
Prepare quality beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, other espresso-based drinks, blended drinks, and coffee.
Maintain the assigned cash bank during each shift.
Alert the Outlet Manager or Outlet Supervisor to inventory shortages and ordering needs.
Follow up on daily projects to ensure they are completed.
Assist with physical inventory when needed.
Maintain a clean work area.
Maintain general knowledge of the hotel property, dining outlets, pools, and daily activities for guests and their children to assist guests and members.
Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
