About The Position

The Barista Trainer supports the Starbucks Manager in operating an efficient, professional, safe, and profitable Starbucks operation in accordance with company standards. The role provides shift leadership, helps ensure excellent customer service and Starbucks-quality food and beverages, and supports team performance through training and coaching. The Barista Trainer also assists with menu preparation, ordering, receiving, inventory, and business reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform the physical activities described for the role.

Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure the team follows Food Division standards and best practices.
• Provide shift leadership and direct associates in serving food products and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ensure the team prepares and presents drip coffee, cold beverages, espresso-bar items, and pastries to Starbucks standards.
• Follow Starbucks merchandising, product presentation, and signing standards.
• Ensure the team meets speed-of-service standards.
• Monitor food quality using Starbucks checklists.
• Model Starbucks Simply Service Steps.
• Support a strong working relationship with store management.
• Provide ongoing training, feedback, coaching, and motivation to associates to maximize team performance and satisfaction.
• Maintain role-model standards for grooming, professional appearance, and communication.
• Meet workplace safety, sanitation, and equipment-care standards set by the Health Department and company policy.
• Use forecasts, daily sales reports, and weekly food-cost and payroll reports to help meet monthly profit-and-loss goals.
• Assist with preparing and producing menu items.
• Assist with ordering food, beverages, dry goods, and paper goods based on budget and business needs.
• Assist with product receiving and follow Inventory Best Practices.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Foster acceptance and respect and strengthen relationships and authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
