About The Position

City of Hope is seeking full-time, day-shift Baristas for its Orange County location. Shift start times vary between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. The role provides customer service by preparing hand-crafted beverages to customer specifications, taking orders, and operating cash registers and credit card machines. Baristas respond to customer questions or complaints while maintaining good customer relations and timely service. The position may also involve selling food, receiving inventory, and moving or lifting foodstuffs and supplies. Starbucks Baristas must obtain Starbucks Barista Certification within 30 days of employment. Three positions are open.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Starbucks Baristas must obtain Starbucks Barista Certification within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of Barista experience at Starbucks or in a food service setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders, and prepare and serve hot and cold beverages according to customer specifications; may sell food items.
• Maintain good customer relations and provide speedy delivery of beverages and food items.
• Arrange coffee bar or cart supplies and cups or mugs for attractive displays, and keep the area neat and sanitary.
• Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas.
• Record sales, collect money, operate cash registers and electronic payment systems, and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Attend allergy and foodborne illness training, safety meetings, safety training, hazard assessments, and assigned classroom or virtual training programs.
• May receive inventory and move or lift foodstuffs and supplies.
• Comply with company safety and risk-management policies and procedures, and report accidents and injuries promptly.
• Follow City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, and guidelines, including performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, infection-control, Code of Conduct, and Compliance Plan requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
