About The Position

CC Holdings is hiring full-time and part-time Barista/Cashiers for its café at the IU School of Medicine. The role prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, tea, and smoothies, and provides guests with menu information, recommendations, and suggestions for special items. It also involves taking orders and processing cash, debit, and credit-card transactions using a point-of-sale system. Baristas/Cashiers help maintain efficient, sanitary, and consistent café operations and provide friendly customer service. Shifts are available between 6 AM and 7 PM and vary; schedule flexibility is required. The starting rate is $13 per hour and up, depending on experience. The position involves preparing and handling food, maintaining food quality and safety, keeping work areas clean, restocking supplies, and following café procedures. Employees work with customers and team members, may help train new Barista/Cashiers, and may be asked to assist with other tasks. The essential functions may include extended periods of standing and walking, moving around the restaurant, operating equipment, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items consistent with the role. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation; requests will be evaluated individually in accordance with applicable law.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

Prior sandwich artist, cashier, and customer service representative experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner.
Educate guests about drink menus, recommend items based on preferences, suggest special items, and take orders.
Process cash, debit, and credit-card transactions using the point-of-sale system; make change and balance the cash drawer.
Set up the station according to café guidelines and restock items as needed.
Prepare food items as directed, following portion-control and presentation specifications.
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerance.
Maintain station cleanliness and organization and follow safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures, including cleaning surfaces and floors and properly covering and storing food.
Record orders accurately, receive and give change, and count the cash drawer according to cash-handling procedures.
Thank customers and invite them to return; keep customers informed about products, promotions, and other services.
Work with team members to support café operations, standards, and concept, and help provide on-the-job training to new Barista/Cashiers.
Assist with other tasks when asked.
