Bariatric Scheduler /Receptionist

About The Position

The Bariatric Receptionist & Scheduler (BRS) will serve as the front office representative, greeting and fulfilling process requirements during office appointments. The BRS will promote an image of professionalism in all areas of representation and will function in a courteous and efficient manner. Excellent customer service skills both via phone and in person are pertinent and must be maintained, as well as sensitivity to the unique needs of the bariatric patient population. All incoming calls are to be personally handled when able, or directed to the relevant staff member in a timely manner. The BRS must be able to discern, to the best of ability, the priority level of each call, basing action accordingly. The BRS will maintain patient and provider appointment schedules in a variety of formats to include Electronic Medical Record keeping and will work closely with Marshall Health, ensuring all required patient data is maintained and up to date for billing and medical records compliance as well as any other purposes that may be determined. Specific needs must be met by the BRS in order to comply with unique scheduling criteria as part of the bariatric department’s accreditation standards. The BRS must work responsibly and as part of a team but also be able to function independently, demonstrating both problem solving and problem prevention skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once while continuing to be accurate with a thorough attention to detail. The ability to develop a system for organization and areas of responsibility is key to the BRS’ success and is therefore required. The BRS will assume additional duties as necessary to betterment of the bariatric program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certification required
  • At least one year of experience in clerical and/or scheduling experience in a medical office
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Experience in direct customer or patient care services
