About The Position

Douglas J is seeking a licensed barber and instructor to teach and mentor aspiring barbers. The role involves sharing barbering skills, experience, and passion while helping students develop the technical ability, confidence, and professionalism needed to build successful careers.

The instructor demonstrates classic and modern barbering techniques and provides hands-on instruction, constructive feedback, encouragement, and individualized guidance. The role also models professional standards and helps maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment. The instructor maintains educational records, collaborates with fellow Educators, and supports the daily needs of the school.

Requirements

• Active Tennessee Barber License.
• Current Tennessee Barber Instructor License.
• At least two years of professional barbering experience working behind the chair.
• Passion for barbering, teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed.
• Strong communication skills and ability to demonstrate techniques clearly.
• Willingness to hold students accountable while providing support for improvement.
• Professional, dependable, and adaptable approach to working in a structured, fast-paced learning environment.
• Open availability for daytime hours, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate classic and modern barbering techniques, including fades, clipper work, beard design, and straight-razor shaves.
• Provide hands-on instruction to help students develop technical skills and professional habits.
• Give constructive feedback, encouragement, and individualized guidance to help students improve and build confidence.
• Model professionalism, client service, sanitation, safety, and industry best practices.
• Maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive atmosphere that challenges students to grow.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and educational records.
• Collaborate with fellow Educators to deliver a consistent, high-quality student and client experience.
• Support the daily needs of the school and help create an environment where students and educators can thrive.
