Requirements

  • Hospitality-oriented
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a high-cuisine environment
  • Ability to handle difficult situations effectively
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish and English)

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guest service needs, and thank guests with a sincere appreciation.
  • A barback is an essential member of the bar team who supports bartenders and ensures a smooth operation during service.
  • Barbacks are responsible for restocking the bar with liquors, beers, wines, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other supplies throughout their shift. This ensures bartenders have everything they need to serve customers efficiently.
  • Barbacks maintain a clean and organized bar area. This includes wiping down counters, washing glassware, emptying trash bins, and maintaining cleanliness in storage areas.
  • Responsible for cleaning up spills and ensuring the bar is presentable at all times.
  • Transport supplies to the bar prep area.
  • Wash dirty glassware.
  • Remove used items from the bar and tables and place them in the designated area.
  • Barbacks assist bartenders during busy periods by seeking ingredients, preparing garnishes, and helping to serve drinks.
  • Barbacks ensure that bar equipment, such as blenders, ice machines, and glassware, is clean and in good working order.
  • Barbacks must comply with all relevant health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Anticipate and communicate restocking needs.
  • At the end of each closing shift, secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
  • Complete closing duties.
  • Prepare a daily shopping list to maintain a healthy inventory level as directed by the manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to achieve common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the supervisor.
