About The Position

The Barback supports bartenders and the Food & Beverage team by keeping the bar stocked, clean, organized, and ready to provide exceptional guest service. Working closely with bartenders and supervisors, the role helps maintain smooth and efficient bar operations while upholding InterContinental Hotels & Resorts service standards. The position is in a fast-paced, high-energy Food & Beverage environment and calls for a dependable, hardworking, team-oriented person committed to high service standards.

• Meet all applicable legal requirements for working in a bar and handling alcoholic beverages.

• Previous bar, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience.
• Knowledge of basic bar operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders with daily bar setup, service, and closing procedures.
• Keep liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies adequately stocked.
• Replenish products and supplies throughout service to prevent interruptions.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar, bar area, storage areas, and equipment.
• Wash, polish, and restock glassware as needed.
• Assist with preparing garnishes, juices, and other bar items.
• Collect and remove empty bottles, glassware, trash, and other items from the bar area.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating beverage products.
• Support bartenders during high-volume periods to help ensure timely and efficient service.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or product needs to the bartender or supervisor.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and hotel procedures.
• Maintain proper bar presentation and cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests when appropriate.
• Respond promptly to requests from bartenders, supervisors, and other Food & Beverage colleagues.
• Follow IHG and InterContinental brand standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
