Seasonal Full Time Barback - Marriott Colorado Springs

Pyramid Global HospitalityColorado Springs, CO

About The Position

Every great bar has a secret weapon. It's not always the most visible person behind the counter, but it's the one who makes everything run smoothly behind the scenes. The person who makes sure the bartender never runs out of what they need, the glasses are always clean and ready, the bar looks sharp from open to close, and every guest who walks up feels welcomed before they even place an order. That person is the Bar Back, and it is one of the most important roles in any successful bar operation. We are looking for a highly motivated, guest-focused Bar Back to join our team at the Marriott Colorado Springs. If you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in being the person the team can count on, and has a genuine passion for hospitality, we want to hear from you. As a Bar Back, you are the backbone of our bar operation. You will work directly alongside our bartenders and servers to make sure the bar is stocked, organized, clean, and running at its best during every single shift. You will be the person who anticipates what is needed before it becomes a problem, who keeps the energy positive and the operation moving, and who takes ownership of the bar area like it is your own. This is also one of the best launching pads in the hospitality industry. Many of our most accomplished bartenders started exactly where you would be starting. If your goal is to build a career behind the bar, this role will give you the knowledge, the exposure, and the hands-on experience to get there. You will learn the operation from the inside out, and when the time is right, you will be ready. No two shifts look exactly the same in a hotel bar environment. You might be supporting a packed happy hour one evening and a sophisticated private event the next. If you love variety, enjoy being part of a high-performing team, and bring great energy to everything you do, this is your kind of role.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older and meet Colorado's legal age requirements for working in an establishment that serves alcohol
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 25 lbs. throughout a shift
  • Comfortable with bending, reaching, pushing, and moving quickly in a tight bar environment
  • Ability to stand and remain active on your feet for the full duration of a shift
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • A natural problem solver who stays calm when things get busy and finds solutions rather than reasons something can't be done
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the bar and hospitality industry
  • Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required; we will train the right person
  • Basic knowledge of bar operations, spirits, beer, and wine is a plus
  • Ability to accurately follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once during high-volume periods
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first approach

Nice To Haves

  • An engaging, welcoming personality that makes guests feel at home the moment they arrive
  • A passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create an exceptional experience for every guest
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits is a plus and will help you hit the ground running
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment without losing your composure or your positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and proactive; you notice what needs to happen and you take care of it
  • The Bar Backs who truly excel in this role are the ones who take ownership. They do not wait to be asked. They see what needs to happen and they make it happen. They treat the bar like it is their own, keep it spotless, and make sure every single person on their team has what they need to succeed. They bring great energy to every shift, connect genuinely with guests, and understand that the details they handle behind the scenes are what make the experience in front of the guest exceptional.

  • Working collaboratively with bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service across the operation
  • Developing a strong working knowledge of the bar's layout, inventory, products, and operational standards so you can anticipate needs and act without being asked
