The position is for a Cook within the Culinary team, seeking someone passionate about culinary arts, creative, motivated, energetic, and eager to grow their skills in a professional kitchen. The Cook will support the culinary leadership team in preparing and producing food for restaurant service, banquet events, cafeteria offerings, and other food and beverage operations. The ideal candidate should have prior kitchen experience, strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for delivering quality food, aiming to develop their craft and build a long-term career in hospitality.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen environment preferred
  • Active Food Handler certification, or the ability to obtain it
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and develop culinary skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be dependable, motivated, and committed to quality
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a positive attitude and a desire to exceed expectations
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items in accordance with recipes, quality standards, portion guidelines, and presentation expectations
  • Assist the culinary leadership team with food production and preparation for restaurant service, banquet events, cafeteria service, and other culinary operations
  • Set up and stock workstations with all required ingredients, supplies, and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, peeling, portioning, and cutting meat
  • Develop knowledge and skill in various cooking methods, including grilling, sautéing, and frying
  • Read, follow, and execute recipes consistently and accurately
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Help minimize food waste through proper handling, storage, and cross-utilization of ingredients
  • Ensure all food items and kitchen supplies are stored properly and labeled as needed
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, safe, and organized work environment at all times
  • Properly use knives, kitchen tools, and cooking equipment
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and notify leadership of any concerns
  • Work closely with the culinary team to support menu execution and daily kitchen operations
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by culinary leadership
