About The Position

The Barback assists the Bartender by stocking beverage products and replenishing bar supplies as needed. The role prepares bars and other beverage outlets for service, assists with opening and closing, and helps maintain clean, stocked service areas. The employee provides customer service to guests and staff, supports inventory procedures and food or beverage service, and follows department procedures and safety priorities. The position requires a high school diploma, a minimum age of 21, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Florida slot license.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Florida slot license.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with internal and external customers, including using patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse difficult situations, gather accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including occasional lifting or moving of up to 50–75 pounds.

Strong food, wine, and liquor knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare bars and other beverage outlets for readiness.
Assist the bartender with opening and closing the bar.
Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and at the assigned workstation at the start of the shift.
Clean surfaces and restock bar supplies and beverage products, including instruments, trays, dish tubs, flooring, and other service-related areas.
Assist with inventory procedures and beverage or food service as needed.
Stay informed about ongoing food and drink specials, Gulfstream Park property, and Guest Services Resources to respond to guest inquiries to the best of their ability.
Stay informed about the week-to-week work schedule and changes made according to business needs.
Follow department SOPs and policies regarding uniforms, communication, and work duties.
Provide excellent customer service to guests and fellow staff members.
Carry out duties with safety as a priority.
