About The Position

The Bar Back assists bartenders by keeping bar areas clean and stocked and providing the support needed for prompt, friendly service. The role helps deliver a guest experience centered on food, drinks, and games, while contributing to a fun atmosphere and a cooperative, efficient working environment. Bar Backs follow alcohol-awareness, portion-control, safety, and sanitation procedures; support guest needs; and help prepare bars and supplies for shifts, parties, and closing.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to read and write handwritten notes.
Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Able to move about the facility and stand for long periods; walking or standing for 100% of the shift is required.
Able to reach, bend, stoop, mop, sweep, and wipe frequently.
Able to work in hot and cold environments, including freezers and areas around cooking equipment.
Able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions.
Able to work days, nights, and/or weekends as required.

Responsibilities

Keep bar areas clean and stocked to support prompt, friendly service.
Help create a warm, fun atmosphere for guests and team members.
Follow alcohol-awareness procedures, identify concerning guest behavior, and bring it to a manager’s attention when appropriate.
Follow portion guidelines and support cost control while maintaining the guest experience.
Check back after food delivery, maintain nonalcoholic drink levels, remove clutter, pre-bus, and respond to guest needs promptly.
Work quickly and efficiently, following the “Full hands in, Full hands out” philosophy.
Deliver food to tables and ensure guests have what they need.
Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Stock bars with garnishes, glassware, straws, and napkins.
Maintain bottle and keg beer pars during and after shifts, and maintain requisition sheets.
Empty trash and spot-sweep as needed or when requested by a manager.
Restock and prepare supplies for shift changes and closing.
Perform opening and closing duties, including party breakdown.
Help keep bar storage areas clean and organized and assist with bar party setup.
Assist with bar inventories as requested by management.
Participate in incentives and contests to drive sales and promote the brand.
Assist other team members when needed or when business needs dictate.
Keep supervisors informed of significant problems or unusual matters and take corrective action or suggest alternatives where appropriate.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with other team members.
