About The Position

The Bar Back ensures that the bar and its equipment are properly maintained, assists bartenders and servers with drink preparation and guest service when needed, and maintains the bar area’s cleanliness according to Soboba Casino and Health Department standards. The role requires following TIPs procedures at all times.

The position includes completing bar setup and closing duties, maintaining and sanitizing the bar and equipment, washing and polishing glassware, replenishing garnishes, preparing sodas for servers, and helping with product rotation and storage when requested. Bar backs may pour drinks and serve guests when assistance is needed, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TIPs (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification.
• Must submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with internal and external guests.
• Complete all setup and closing duties in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area and equipment according to Soboba Casino and Health Department standards, including cleaning floors, drains, mats, and refrigerators.
• Perform weekly deep cleaning and deep-clean bar mats when closing.
• Remove refuse from the bar area as required.
• Assist bar porters from time to time with rotating and putting away products in the bars when asked.
• Maintain a clean bar and service bar throughout the shift.
• Wash, polish, and put away glassware.
• Pour drinks and serve guests when assistance is required or requested by the bartender.
• Prepare sodas for servers and assist them when needed.
• Replace garnishes as needed.
• Assist bartenders and servers with assigned duties as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
