About The Position

Under the direction of the Banquets Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for the coordination and execution of banquets and special events. They provide support to the Banquets Manager, while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Board standards.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Event planning and execution, including knowledge of event logistics, timelines, and layouts.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Provide exceptional guest service.
  • Communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Speak, read write, and understand basic English to communicate effectively with all guests.
  • Be friendly, helpful personality enabling one to handle guest relations pleasantly and effectively.
  • Stand for long periods of time (up to four hours in length).
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Hard Rock Casino policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates all aspects of banquets and special events, ensuring smooth executions and exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure that all guests are promptly and courteously served.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of event plans, including timelines, layouts, and staffing requirements.
  • Inspects event spaces and equipment to ensure they are clean, well maintained, and set up according to client specifications.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the bar throughout the shift including continually wiping down the bottles and the bar, removing dirty glassware and dishes, etc.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to team members in day-to-day tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
