About The Position

This is a full-time seasonal position at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, beginning in April 2027. The role oversees, instructs, and participates in preparing menu items for dining room service, banquets, and weddings. Working closely with kitchen and service staff, the Production Lead helps ensure efficient operations and that guest expectations are met. The starting wage is $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely.
• Knowledge of proper FIFO and rotation procedures.
• Ability to work as a team member with kitchen and service staff to ensure excellent guest service.
• Must have, or be able to obtain, an Alaska Food Workers card.

Nice To Haves

• ServeSafe Manage certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Instruct prep cooks in their duties.
• Lead the prep team in daily menu production, maintain pars, and follow FIFO procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the production area.
• Ensure food is handled properly and in accordance with health codes.
• Coordinate with the Executive Chef and Events Manager to prepare and cook menu items for banquets and weddings.
• Supervise menu and shift changeovers.
• Assist Sous Chefs with back-of-house operations as needed.
