Banquet Server (On-Call) - Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines
About The Position
As a Banquet Server at Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, you provide food and beverage service and help create memorable guest experiences. You interact with guests in a friendly, proactive manner, learn menu items and specials, take and enter orders into the point-of-sale system, and deliver orders promptly. You keep service stations stocked, clean, and organized; clear and transport tableware to the dishwashing area; and assist with banquet preparation, including cleaning, arranging tables, and restocking supplies. You follow health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations. The role is on-call and requires flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Must have up to 1 year of banquet experience.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to work flexible, varying hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the state of application.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, hot and non-alcoholic beverages, cuisines, accompaniments, and ways to enhance the dining experience.
- Possesses or can obtain current TIPS, BASSET, or equivalent beverage alcohol training certification.
- Possesses or can obtain a food safety certification.
Responsibilities
- Bring an upbeat, friendly attitude to guest interactions and look for ways to enhance the guest experience.
- Learn menu items and specials to answer guest questions confidently.
- Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, and deliver orders promptly.
- Keep the service station stocked, clean, and organized.
- Clear dishware, glassware, and silverware after meal service and transport them to the dishwashing area.
- Assist with event preparation, including cleaning, arranging and setting banquet tables, and restocking supplies.
- Follow health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations.
