About The Position

A Banquet Server delivers and serves food and beverage items to banquet guests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner, helping provide outstanding guest service. The role includes preparing banquet areas before guests arrive, maintaining event timelines, responding to guest preferences, following food safety and responsible alcohol-service requirements, and keeping service areas and equipment clean and in good condition.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills.
• Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
• Availability for various shifts, including early mornings, late nights, double shifts, occasional triple shifts, occasional split shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
• Understanding of basic room diagrams for station setups and guest seating charts.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small-group settings to customers, clients, and employees of organizations served.
• At least 1 year of prior food service experience.

Nice To Haves

• Prior food service experience in banquets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and prepare the banquet-area setup before guest arrival, ensuring the room design is executed correctly.
• Maintain the event timeline to support seamless service.
• Anticipate guests’ service needs by asking questions, observing and listening to preferences, and responding whenever possible.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
• Follow state and local laws for responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of stations, tables, and other tools in accordance with setup guidelines.
