About The Position

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking Banquet Servers to join the Banquet team at its historic hotel in Evanston. This is a unionized, on-call position. Banquet Servers set up and reset banquet rooms, serve food and beverages, and provide courteous service to guests while following supervisor instructions and applicable requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a banquet server.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Food handler credentials.
• TIPS certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms as instructed by the Supervisor, including linen, service ware, and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn event details and guest and hotel expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages in the order and manner specified by the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal, or at the end of the meal or function.
• Follow State, Federal, and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests to ensure their overall satisfaction.
• Reset banquet rooms according to the Supervisor’s specifications after events.
