About The Position

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is hiring an on-call Banquet Server for its unionized hotel in Evanston. The role supports banquet events by setting up and resetting rooms, serving food and beverages, and providing courteous guest service. The position requires attention to detail, organization, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a banquet server.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Food handler certification.
• TIPS certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms as instructed by the Supervisor, including linens, service ware, and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn event details and guest and hotel expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages in the order and manner directed by the Supervisor.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests finish each course or meal, or at the end of the function.
• Follow state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Reset the banquet room according to the Supervisor’s specifications after the event.
