About The Position

Banquet Servers are crucial to the success of catered events at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Their primary responsibility is to provide exceptional service while upholding the high standards of AHC. This role involves setting up event spaces, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that every guest receives quality service. By fostering a collaborative team environment, Banquet Servers contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience through attentive and courteous interactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • MUST have some restaurant/banquet experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests, team members, and management.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in service and presentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and fostering a positive atmosphere.
  • Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Capability to address and resolve guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing situations and requirements based on the nature of events.
  • Familiarity with menu items, ingredients, and special dietary needs to provide informed service.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform physical tasks associated with event service.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
  • Must use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and serve food and beverages.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms to set up and serve.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear effectively, as well as taste and smell to ensure food quality.
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when needed for specific tasks.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision for accurate service and safety.

  • ServSafe Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide banquet service as required, based on the nature of the event.
  • Set up and break down event spaces efficiently.
  • Understand menu items and ingredients, including allergy information and special meal requests.
  • Strive to exceed guest satisfaction through exceptional service.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties and side work with attention to detail.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and adhere to attendance policies.
  • Participate in department meetings and maintain open communication with management and staff.
  • Maintain a positive, courteous attitude while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Present a professional appearance in complete uniform, including proper footwear.
  • Address guest concerns and departmental issues promptly.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow AHC safety standards and hotel green policies.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by Banquet Management.
